I got a little bit behind on this series. I read the first one Unlovable a few weeks after it came out and of course fell in love with Maggie and Seth. It took me a while to find out more about this author and when I found her, I learned she had two more out!

Onto the actual review...

I had been wondering about Booker when I read Unlovable. He was one of those characters that I couldn't wait to read about. Intrigue, mystery and hilarity made me want his story even more!

Booker is one of those characters. You know, the one always around to help and give advice but offer a reprieve in silly teasing. He's brave, strong and will fight anybody who even steps threateningly to one of his friends. Plus, he's hot. *Shrugs none apologetically*

We learn more about his past and although we hear about in both books, its told with more clarity in this one (duh!). I have to say, his is a pretty good story but I felt for Tess even more.

Poor, poor girl. We learn in the second book that she faints at the site of blood. Well, in this book, we figure out its all for a good reason. Her past was saddening. I've read a lot of books with this kind of situation-all hard to read about-and find each one different despite the similarities. I don't want to give too much away!

Did not like story
Love Sherry's writing!!
I love Sherry Gammon's books, all of them. So sad to see the Port Fare series end. I highly recommend these to my friends, especially those with teens in their family. Good mother/daughter discussions could happen after reading these book.

Booker's story is finally here! I really enjoyed this series and glad all the guys found their HEA. I will forever hold this series and carry in my heart for a long time. Thank you Sherry for all you do and cannot wait for more of your writing to be published. I really appreciate how you can find a good YA read full of suspense/thriller/action and hot swooning clean romance! If that is what you are looking for, look no further, this series is for you! Hope you enjoy!

This was an amazing, heartwrenching, inspiring conclusion to the Port Fare Series following the lives of 3 friends. This is Booker Gatto’s story, one of my all-time favorite characters. He’s endured his share of tragedies in life and has sworn off women. He has an impossible list of requirements for what ‘his’ perfect woman must have…but when he employs Tess as his new secretary, she miraculously fits the bill. Tess’s character has been through horrific domestic abuse with her ex-husband, Garen, who’s a huge slime ball. Her story broke my heart. I couldn’t stop reading this and wasn’t disappointed by Booker’s and Tess’s love story. It was one of the best I’ve read. Bravo to this author for writing characters I’ve totally fallen in love with and wish were my friends in real life (ha ha).
I loved the whole Port Fare Series. I'm so glad that Booker found his romance side. This was more of the gruesome one tales. It was more about abusive relationships and how it can escalates to a total nightmare. You feel bad for Tess and really hate her ex. Towards halfway through the book you are rooting for these two characters to find their happily ever after. Overall I couldn't put this book down. I finished it within 2 days. This was a great ending for this series.

This is my favorite book series so far. I have never read a book over and over again, but this series definitely made me want to read it over and over and then some.
This book is so well-written. It is really the story of Booker and Tess… and their story is very well told.

While the first two books of the series do feature couples, the women’s stories/backstories are the ones that are more raw and exposed. In writing Unbearable, Gammon reveals the brutal, ugly pasts of both Booker and Tess. It is easy to see how those pasts pull them together and still push them apart. Their emotional journeys are quite compelling.

Creating a very palpable sensation of ‘waiting for the other shoe to drop’ is another thing that Gammon does well. Once she sets the stage, she makes it impossible to put the book down. 5 stars
