****** A FEW SPOILERS ********Let's start with the good parts of this story. First, it gave you some background on Levet which was interesting and I was so proud that Levet was able to stand up to his mom and demand to be able to be part of the guild again. Besides that, the rest of the story was not what I was expecting when the title of the novella was Levet. There was more story about a secondary couple, Valla and Elijah, then there was about Levet. Since this novella looked like it was going to be about Levet, I was hoping it was going to be his love story with Yannah, that finally Levet would get some of the love that he has been denied because he was stunted and shunned. I wanted to find out why Levet has beautiful wings, I wanted more, so much more than what was given in this novella.
Granted, I'm glad that we finally got to find out what happened to Valla, since she has been on my mind since we first heard about her from Jaelyn. But it seemed like the story of Levet was about Valla and Elijah. I didn't want to hear their story when there were so many questions about Levet that I wanted to find out about.
Overall, I was just upset that the novella was so lacking. It was well written, as you would expect a story from Alexandra Ivy to be so it does have that going for it, but from the point of it being a novella about Levet, it was most disappointing. Why?!?!?!?! Why would you title a novella Levet and then leave the reader with so many questions about him. When are we going to find out who his father is? When is he going to hook up with Yannah? When will he start getting the respect he deserves? When will we find out why is magic is so unstable and will it ever be corrected? See, so many questions, and no answers to be found in his novella.

Levet Guardians of Eternity Book 13 eBook Alexandra Ivy Reviews
I love the character Levet and it was nice to see that he finally got his own story.
Levet is "height challenged" meaning that he is naturally quite a bit shorter than all gargoyles - he is 3 feet tall. He endears himself to the mates of the vampires and is grudgingly accepted by them. He would give his life for his adopted family of the vamps and their mates, but he would give anything to finally be accepted by his own kind. That includes his mother who once tried to kill him!
This short story is about Levet returning to the land of his birth, France, and demanding that his birthright as a true gargoyle be returned.
It is a fun story, and though it has its fair share of fluff, I did find myself smiling and then giving a shout at Levet's eventual triumph.
If you've read the Guardian's of Eternity series by Alexandra Ivy, then you've heard of Levet, the small charismatic gargoyle who was banished by his family from Paris for being too small, having "fairy" wings, and having difficulty controlling his magic. After sacrificing himself for the world and being brought back to health by the demon he "loves". Levet decides to return to Paris and demand that he be reinstated to the Gargoyle Guild, after all, he did prevent the ultimate evil, the Dark Lord, from taking over the world.
"With few allies, Levet's survival may depend on the aid of two strangers Valla, a beautiful but damaged nymph, and Elijah, the fiercely possessive, love-struck vampire clan chief to whom she can't quite surrender--unless Levet has something to do with it. . ." -- from .
This story allows us to learn more about Levet while also finding out what happened to Valla who was featured in a previous book in the series. Levet is true to form, oblivious to those alpha males and friend to all females - unless they are his own family of course. Even in this very short story, Alexandra Ivy weaves a story that pulls at the heart strings and has you sighing when the couple finds their HEA.
I have followed this series from the first novel and loved it the entire way. This is, without a doubt, one of the best supernatural series there is in the current market. I had been waiting and hoping that Levet, our darling three foot tall Gargoyle, would get his own novel. Well, here it is, but much shorter than I would have preferred.
As an Author myself, I understand that it is impossible to put out full-length Novel in such a short period of time. I also understand the necessity and use of novellas, anthologies and the like. However, I would have much preferred that Levets story be a novel, as with his involvement from the start, as well as her indomitable personality, I feel that he could have had a story that not only filled the pages, but entertained the readers thoroughly.
That being said, this novella brings us to a quick introduction of Levet and his history, the goal that he has come home to Paris to accomplish, and leaves us with Levet likely continuing his involvement with "saving the world, a ma chere'.
Levet may have a small body, stature wise, but he has a personality that is larger than life. Reading his story was, as always, enjoyable. I cannot think of another character that makes me laugh, almost to the point of crying, while at the same time feeling so endearing. He is what everyone would love to bring home as a stray. He believes himself to be a magnet to women, which he really is, just not in the way he wished. He believes himself to be a hero, fighting the Dark Lord, which he is. Simply put, he is a huge asset to this series.
Even though it was quick, the story was well-developed, the characters goals and obstacles clearly outlined and a conclusion, while somewhat achieved, I believe was left open internationally, as we still have the matter of Levets personal hounding Demon. I was really hoping that in this story Levet, and his little Demon Hannah, would have a loving bond established, as he so deserves to be a "night in shinning armour" to that special woman I.e. demon). Alas, that did not happen, so I am only left to assume that will be brought to conclusion in a future Guardians of Eternity story. After all, a book without Levet would be like strawberry shortcake without the whip cream.
If this is your first introduction to The Guardians of Eternity series, I would HIGHLY recommend starting from the first book and working your way forward, as this is simply too good of a series to not enjoy. If you have followed Alexandra Ivy's wonderful world and character building from the start, as I have, then likely you will enjoy this story but be left wishing there was more. What better compliment could there be to an Author than their readers wanting more. That's the worst "complaint" that I have about Levet.
Fortunately, while I may have to wait until June to vet it, I know that Levet will be making another appearance in Santiago's story; why else would Styx have his all important Ravens out searching for a three foot Gargoyle? Well, other than Darcy, and every other Mate, that is.
Thank you for another creative, enjoyable story Alexandra! Enjoy! )
